2025 Breeding Beef Project Awards
Information & photos provided by Lindsey Habets
For the 13th consecutive year, the Marias River Livestock Association sponsored Breeding Beef Project Awards at the 4 County Marias Fair.
The purpose of these awards is to encourage knowledge and interest in a continuing breeding project, that will serve to become the foundation of a current or future breeding herd. It is the goal of Marias River Livestock Association to encourage our youth to become the next generation of Livestock producers.
While confirmation, breeding capability and ability to handle the heifer is very important and part of the overall score for determining the award winner, the main component of the score is based on an interview. 4-Hers are interviewed on their knowledge of their animals and the goals they have for a continued breeding program on their current ranch operation or a future operation they may have in mind.
MRLA works hard to promote a healthy, competitive and positive future for our livestock industry. Our youth are a very important component of that.
Grand Champions receive Montana Silversmith Belt Buckles and a cash award; Reserve Champions receive a certificate redeemable for a custom embroidered jacket and cash award.
A Big Congratulations to ALL the 2025 Breeding Beef Project award recipients and participants – you all did an outstanding job!!
The number of entries and the quality of cattle being represented by our 4-H youth is truly something to aspire to. These 4-Hers with their Breeding Beef projects are all to be commended on a job well done. They are a prime example of leadership and an excellent representation of our next generation of future
cattlemen and cattlewomen!
